Project Management 201

Course Summary:

This course builds on foundational project management knowledge to develop advanced skills in planning, execution, and leadership. Learners will apply advanced tools and techniques such as detailed scheduling, critical path analysis, risk management, and decision-making frameworks to improve project outcomes. The course emphasizes accountability, clear roles and timelines, stakeholder engagement, and effective monitoring processes. Participants will also strengthen their ability to make timely, high-quality tactical and strategic decisions by understanding common pitfalls, establishing decision hierarchies, and using practical tools such as strategy tables to drive project success.

Course Aim:

The aim of this training is to build on PM101 and establish the leadership and advanced techniques necessary for the leaders to work as a high-performing team by providing more advanced project management tools and techniques and introducing project leadership skills required to use them.

Course Delivery:

  • Delivered in person and remotely through three half-day workshops

This course could be completed in:

  • Two days of dedicated training
  • Four successive days (half-day each day)
  • Four successive weeks (half-day each week).

PM201 consists of three modules:

  1. Module 1 – Advanced planning tools and techniques,
  2. Module 2 – Establishing and Maintaining Accountability,
  3. Module 3 – Making Good Decisions, and
  4. Module 4 – Making Time (Multitasking and Getting Control of your Calendar).
